Common Pitch NYC 2012

Made it out to Common Pitch NYC the other night at Brooklyn Bowl, Williamsburg’s hip spot for shows, bowling and drinks. The event was fun, sure, but it also highlighted some great startups with great missions.

The event, designed to highlight (according to the site’s mission):

“the next generation of consumption by asking one important question: What if there’s already enough to go around? Featuring the creative new business concepts of eight hand-picked, competing entrepreneurs, COMMON Pitch NYC will expose today’s most exciting new ways to borrow, share or trade the things we all need.”

Indeed, we saw really cool ideas about ride sharing, bike sharing, and the night’s winner, baby clothes recycling via monthly subscription. Go figure! But it makes fantastic sense and it seemed to light up the judging panel, awarding the winner, Sharon Schneider of Good Karma with $30,000 in a canvas bag (or so it seemed).

Of course, Common are the folks that loved our REALiTREE concept and encouraged Al Gore to love it too. Thanks for a great show and being champions of doing good.
