The prestigious Internet Cat Video Film Festival in Minneapolis received over 10,000 submissions, but only one could win the most distinguished award, the Golden Kitty.
Henri, aka Le Chat Noir, shines in “Henri 2: Paw de Deux,” made by owner Will Braden, who seems to have taken the whole thing a bit too seriously, telling the Times:
This goes to show that the shared love of cat videos isn’t just a virtual thing, isn’t just a matter of a few clicks, but actually something people can share in real life…I think this legitimizes it.
Uh, yeah whatever. As Gawker points out, Braden is “making bank off his cat ‘art,’” making his living from Henri and “an online store that sells over $1,000 of T-shirts and mugs a week.”
